Meet Caroline!!
Caroline was a dream to have in the studio! She is so full of fun and suprises! She loves reading and has a beautiful talent doing art! Her smile was so contagious throughout our session!

How old were you when you were diagnosed with T1D? 11
What is your favorite subject in school? Art
How did you feel when you were diagnosed?
Confused. How, why did I get so sick so quick. And Scared of the needles.
What do you like to do for fun? Draw, and read. I like to create monsters, dragons and OC’s
How did you find out that you were diabetic?
I started getting really bad stomach aches. I called my mom from school the day I was diagnosed, really nauseous and tired. When I got home she asked me why I was so tired and I told her I hadn’t been sleeping well because I had to pee all the time. She immediately took out a BG test kit we keep in case one of our T1D extended family forgets theirs and it said I was HI. So we hoped in the car to get to the docs for confirmation.
Do you like being diabetic?
No. It’s annoying. I hate the needles and it’s frustrating trying to keep my BG in normal range.
What is cool about being diabetic? Not sure yet.
What is the worst thing about being diabetic? The needles!
What is your favorite food? Strawberry chocolate ice cream
What is your favorite movie? How to Train Your Dragon 3
Where is your favorite restaurant? JB’s family restaurant
Where is your favorite place to vacation? A retreat cabin in Tabiona.
If you could have 3 wishes granted, what would they be?
1. Get rid of Diabetes
2. Have a Rabbit pet
3. Convince Dad to move us to the house mom found in Stockton
Who is your favorite tv/book/story character and what do you like about him/her?
Warriors.... Jay-feather. He is a blind cat that uses his other senses to move around and detect wounds on others. And I like his grumpyness.
If you could have any animal in the world as a pet, what would it be? Does mythical count? A Dragon.
If you could wake up with a superpower, what would it be? Super healing like Wolverine.
What would you like others to know about being a diabetic?
I’ve learned needles are not as scary since they are small. I love my pump. It’s made it lots easier for me. It’s not contagious and I’m still me.
